PAM Jaya Expands Clean Water Access with Additional Supply from Jatiluhur

Perumda PAM Jaya informed that an additional water supply from Jatiluhur of 208 liters per second will enter Jakarta starting October 20, 2024.

We managed to achieve the number of new connections

This step is PAM Jaya's effort to achieve the target of 100 percent clean water services for Jakartans.

Perumda PAM Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin said his party had expanded services with an additional 29,326 home connections for the period 2023 to July 2024. It was targeted to have 69,000 home connections by the end of this year.

PAM Jaya Takes Over Repair of Leaking Raw Water Pipes, Water Distribution Restores

"Despite the water conditions remaining the same after PAM Jaya took over operations from two private partners, we maximized the clean water production process at the Water Treatment Plant (IPA). As a result, we managed to achieve the number of new connections," he expressed, Friday (8/30).

He explained the construction of seven communal reservoirs with a total capacity of 2.3 million liters has also been completed by PAM Jaya in order to equalize water distribution.

"This number will increase to 13 communal reservoirs by the end of the year," he explained.

He added PAM Jaya strives to serve up to 100 percent by 2030. The challenges faced were not easy, considering the conditions in Jakarta which were already very dense, causing the construction of water facilities to often disrupt the comfort of the community. But, he hoped, public support remains strong to ensure that Jakarta residents' clean water needs can be met.

"We've received assistance from the central government for water sources entering Jakarta. Hopefully, everything will run smoothly, because technically this city is not easy. The city is already denser than the water connections so our development can disrupt the community with traffic jams. But once again we aim to ensure that the needs of the people in Jakarta for water can be met," he closed.
